A holiday at Barmouth Bay, on the west coast of Wales, offers a blend of sea, beaches and mountains. The walking and cycling in the area is superb and there is no shortage of historical sites to visit. Portmeirion and Beddgelert, Snowdonia's loveliest mountain village, are short drives away.
The park has an indoor heated swimming pool and a children's play area and there is a good choice of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants in Barmouth. Get to see Wales' only pair of breeding ospreys at Glaslyn and travel the 13 mile Ffestiniog Railway through the scenic Snowdonian landscape at Porthmadog.
Golf, fishing, shooting and watersports are all to be found in the area and there is a good deal of history and heritage too - visit the 13th Criccieth Castle and the Lloyd George Museum or head to the Llechwedd Victorian Village at Blaenau Ffestiniog to see The Chemist Shop and the Victorian Sweet Shop! Harlech Beach is renowned for its golden sands and clean water.
