Set high above Coniston Water, and in an area that holds the David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation, Crake Valley is a small holiday park with caravans and lodges. The surrounding woodland and fells are wonderful for walking and there are scenic views of the Old Man of Coniston, a mountain popular with fell-walkers and tourists.
Crake Valley is an ideal location from which to explore the rest of the Lake District, and it's close to Coniston with all its amenities. Torver has a friendly local pub that serves food and Windermere and Ambleside are an easy drive away. A little further afield, you'll find family adventure days, watersports and golfing.
Fell Foot Park in Ulverston has some lovely picnic areas and rowing boats for hire and Leighton Moss Nature Reserve in Silverdale has an exceptional variety of birds, including marsh harriers and avocets. Take a cruise on Coniston Water, then enjoy the Dow Crag and Coniston walk or head to Grasmere for stunning views from Helm Crag.
Peak Lodge is a spacious 12 foot timber clad lodge with a double and a twin bedroom, balcony and garden furniture. The Windermere Caravan sleeps six people in three bedrooms and accommodation has tvs, dvds and well equipped kitchens with microwaves.
