The Ridgeway is set in a designated area of Special County Value for Landscape, surrounded by mature trees and woodlands. Bordered by the 32 mile Cheshire Sandstone Trail, the park is tranquil and picturesque, yet perfectly placed for touring the area and just eight miles from Chester.
The Sandstone Trail has wonderful walks and cycle trails through the Delamere Forest Park. Tatton Park Mansion at Knutsford houses the Maurice Egerton exhibition - and there are three sandy beaches along the Prestatyn coastline. Why not hire a canal boat at Northwich, just a few miles away?
Chester Zoo is well worth a visit - it houses over 7,000 animals, some of which are endangered. The Coed Llandegla Forest has superb mountain bike and walking trails, whilst there is a wealth of interesting sites and buildings at Burslem. The Yellow Broom Restaurant in Holmes Chapel is a great place for an evening meal.
Linmere Lodge is a spacious timber clad lodge with three bedrooms (one with en-suite shower), a separate bathroom, flat screen tv and Freeview. For parties on a budget, the Hatchmere and Oakmere caravans also sleep six people and all the accommodation is well equipped and extremely comfortable.
