They nestle in a wooded valley in a stunning and tranquil setting just two miles from the picturesque seaside town of Bude, right on the Devon/Cornwall border. Clovelly, Rock and Port Isaac are all within easy travelling distance.
The area has a multitude of beaches and there is golf, horse riding, sailing, fishing and surfing close by. The Cornish Way and Heritage coastline offer some amazing walks and you'll be spoilt for choice with local restaurants - Decks at Instow is recommended in the Good Food Guide and has an AA rosette, and The Quay Gallery at Appledore serves fresh, local produce and has beautiful views of the Taw and Torridge estuaries.
Tintagel, set on the rugged Cornish coastline, is a great place to visit and to enjoy shopping with great discounts, head to the Atlantic Village Outlet at Bideford. Lundy Island, England's only marine nature reserve, has a fascinating array of wildlife, including seals, seabirds, basking sharks and puffins.
Toad Lodge is a superbly furnished lodge with one double bedroom, one single and one with bunkbeds for children. There is a separate bathroom and outdoor hot tub, a widescreen tv with dvd and Freeview. Retreat Lodge sleeps four people and some have a four poster bed in the master bedroom.
