The Priest Hole at Ambleside is a lovingly restored 16th century hall that serves freshly prepared Mediterranean and English food and the town is a favourite for hikers. There is indoor go-karting at Mayport and watersports at Windermere and Carlisle Castle is a popular tourist attraction.
