Marwell Wildlife is a fantastic 140 acre zoological park and is a fantastic choice for a family day trip in Hampshire. The site is home to over 225 species of exotic and endangered animals, all within a beautifully landscaped park. We recommend this park to families with children of all ages as there really is something for everyone.
The parks is made up of several areas including the very popular African Valley - home to the giraffe, zebra, waterbuck and ostrich and the Australian bush where visitors can meet the wallabies and kookaburra. The South East Asia area is where the playful Gibbons can be found and there is also an area to explore underwater creatures and meet the adorable penguins.
The park aims to be educational as well as fun and regular talks help to teach about the dangers the animals face in the wild and about the conservation projects designed to help them. There are also three play areas where children can run around while the grown ups take some time to relax in the café which serves freshly prepared food. Snacks are also available from a number of other places around the park and visitors are welcome to bring a picnic if they prefer.
A family ticket during peak times is around £50 dropping to £45 during quieter periods. Children under 3 are free of charge.
